Sofie Gonet, daughter of Michel Gonet, currently leads the Champagne operation. Sadly, Monsieur Michel Gonet passed away in October of 2019. Despite the loss of her father, Sofie continues to carry on the family traditions of winemaking, all the while infusing her practices with her own approach. Year after year her passion, tenacity and devotion have gained the brand international and national notoriety
and acclaim. Her authentic nature and strong leadership in the world of Champagne have afforded Sophie the great honor of being the President of Women Winegrowers of Champagne, as well as L’ Universe du Gout (taste) en Champagne.
Founded in 1802 by Charles Gonet, the family owned Champagne house has been producing award-winning Champagnes for seven plus generations. The Gonet Family owns expansive acreage in the Champagne region of France, stretching from Avize through Mesnil-Sur-Oger and other famous appellations. The family’s emphasis on quality rather than quantity, has earned many awards over the years. The Gonet Family’s reach extends beyond Champagne production to include several Bordeaux varietals. The acclaimed and storied vineyards include appellations in Pessac-leognan, Graves de Vayres and Bordeaux. Keeping the business all in the family, Sofie’s brothers, Charles-Henri and Frederic, oversee the Bordeaux operation.
The Brut Rose Champagne offers a rich bouquet of dried rose petals, bing cherry, and pomelo. On the palate, the wine is soft but powerful with notes of strawberry, meyer lemon, sweet smoke, and cassis. The Brut Rose pairs well with spiced nuts, game bird, oysters, charcuterie and caviar.
